Erika Burnett

Erika aka "E" is an entrepreneur and certified life coach, who has amassed over 20 years of committed professional experience, was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a Life Coach focused on her client's success, both personally and professionally, she goes above and beyond in offering support and encouragement to those who seek her service. Prior to this, however, she battled through tough circumstances that would eventually lead her to the empowerment she today possesses, and now wishes to share with others.

While growing up in a single parent home, with little to no help from her father, Erika felt she stood out from other children her age. This feeling would lead her to experience loneliness all throughout her early childhood. As she attempted to combat this loneliness, she joined the Girl Scouts when she was 9 years old and remained a part of the organization until she was 17. Right out of high school, Erika served as a Girl Scout Leader for 10 years. Afterward, in 2005, she enrolled with the University of Pennsylvania's College of General Studies, where she studied Sociology and worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Dean’s Office at The Wharton School. With an expanding skill set, she followed her desire to grow her knowledge by attending Manor College, majoring in Business Administration and acquiring an Administrative position in the Marketing Department at The Wharton School. This paved the way for Erika to found her very first company in 2013, A Single Suggestion, which creates beautifully handcrafted stationery.

This and other past achievements now serve as constant reminders of her ability to overcome. Although Erika has faced numerous hurdles including a fatherless upbringing, abandonment, bullying, self-esteem issues and even her own divorce, instead of allowing them to stop her, she fought on and met each of her goals. Now incorporating both her professional and personal experiences, she has turned her obstacles into tools to help others. Having a desire to guide them in overcoming life's challenges, and inspired by our biggest supporter, God, Erika gained her certification in Life Coaching. Utilizing this certification, she hopes to serve as a source of encouragement for those wanting to share their stories while fighting to overcome past hurts, just as she has done. She knows wholeheartedly that her greatest accomplishment was learning to love herself, and now it is her mission to help others do the same as they better their lives, taking charge of their feelings, developing their confidence, and most importantly, establishing their happiness and peace.

Outside of this mission, Erika is a volunteer at SCORE Mentors Philadelphia and a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). When she is not volunteering, she enjoys spending her free time with family, partaking in arts & crafts, dancing and bowling.
